Karunya Charitable trust was established in October 2012 at Tadepalligudem in West Godavari Dt. Andhra Pradesh.KCT is a Non-profit organization. The organization activities are Excess food distribution programs, Skills training programs, Livelihood Trainings, Material distribution programs, Home for the Aged. Mainly ‘Surpluses Food and Excess food distribution program’
Our Vision :
‘Surpluses and Excess food distribution program’. India has always been a starving country with poor starving to death every day. And on the other side, huge amount of food (Excess, Surplus) is going into gutters in the places like Function halls, Marriages, Parties, restaurants, hotels, canteens, organizations etc. We were touched by these two extreme scenarios and decided to bridge a gap between them. In the event of food surplus, the best option is to re-use this food by donating and feeding the vulnerable members of the society. Where reuse is not possible, recycling and recovery is being pursued: by – product recycling, anaerobic digestion and composting. By KCT Food Bank effective channelization of the Surpluses and excess food collected from Social Events in and around the city which is later distributed among the under privileged Society (Like Slum dwellers, Rag pickers, Beggars, Shelter less, Hungary people and Needy NGOs ).
To position India as a zero food wastage economy by mobilizing social change and redeploying food resources in a efficient manner. To properly utilize and deliver spare food to our target deprived group. To address hunger and bridge the gap between main stream of the society and marginalized section through active community participation. To sensitize the community on the issue and generate awareness towards food wastage. To promote policy framework and institutionalize produce responsibility towards food wastage.
